How To Write A News Story

You can get your news anywhere, but when you want to know what is going on in your local area, the best source you have is the local news reporters that report for your local station. You can read blurbs and items online, but you get the best information by watching the news each night. It may seem, especially on some small stations, that there are no requirements to become a news reporter, but that is not true. These folks really do care about the news, and they are often the ones going out to find out what is going on. They are not just reading from a teleprompter.

For example, someone sends out a news release in which he announces the opening of his new company. Sounds like a trivial story? It's not if that person suffers from a disability. In other words, bring your unique angle into your news release. Give it a human feel. The key is to capture the reporter's interest. It must appeal to him or her and not just the marketplace.

Body text is the next in line. This is broken up into 3 to 5 paragraphs of about 3-5 sentences. The most important part of news takes up the top notch and the least important or affiliate part makes up the end. The quotes, if any, are inserted in the middle or at the end depending upon its importance and relation density with the news.

Secondly, DO NOT release your video anywhere else. Do not upload it to You Tube. It may be great and it may attract tons of views, but no one is going to buy it from you once it's gone viral.

The two styles of writing are completely different and you need to be really clear about what kind of writer you are when looking for results on the web.

Over the years since its start, CNN has covered some of the most impactful events of our time. They were the only channel to broadcast the launch and disaster of the Challenger space shuttle. The TV network has also covered events like the Gulf War, the rescue of baby Jessica from the well in Texas, the September 11, 2001 Attacks on the World Trade Center, and multiple Presidential elections.

Trending news are better disseminated using social networking sites. Often news is first shared on social media than on regular channels. When users starts sharing information with each others they become a snow ball which quickly gathers momentum and forms top news. Social media is a treasure house for news and updates from friends and can help to keep in touch with what&rsquos the buzz at the moment. Staying behind is not an option and if one does not follow the buzz that is exactly what happens. Following twitter and other social networking sites as such helps in staying abreast with the latest and thus staying with the buzz.
